Doncaster often fails to attract as a town to visit in Yorkshire. This may be due to the neighbouring cities of Sheffield and York being within driving distance. It does however boast some of the nicest places to eat in Yorkshire. These are our favourite four:
- The Hare and the Tortoise for traditional pub food
- Cosmo for all-you-can-eat foods from around the world
- La Fiesta for a range of tasty tapas
- Whitby’s for famous fish and chips
The Hare and Tortoise Vintage Inn
Vintage Inns are renowned for their rustic and warm feel, and The Hare and Tortoise upholds this classic tradition. A warm open fire, class and the countryside feel that epitomises Yorkshire all welcome you. The steak comes highly recommended!
The Cosmo All You Can Eat
You will be completely spoiled for choice at Cosmo with over 150 dishes to choose from! They are famed for providing a buffet, all-you-can-eat experience with cuisine from all over the world. Try the US, Traditional English, Italian, Chinese, and Japanese dishes to mention just a few. Remember to leave room for dessert!
La Fiesta Best Tapas in Town
La Fiesta has the blend of choices that you would expect from a tapas restaurant. In other words not too oily and with the right blend of flavours. Add top-notch service and an environment to match, and it’s rumoured to be the best tapas hangout in town
Whitby’s offers the traditional fish and chips experience for which the county is famous. With a diverse menu, and ample parking spaces you’d do well to book a table in advance since it is incredibly popular. The clincher is the quality of white fish available.
This is only a small selection of many high-quality places to eat in Doncaster. The town is in an excellent part of Yorkshire. If you’re on the M1 consider a slight detour to check one of them out.
